WHY YOU SHOULD TRAVEL TO PHU QUOC

We had already been several days in Ho-Chi-Minh City (read about it here), when we decided to escape the crowded city and relax for a week at the beach and explore the nature of Phu Quoc. We originally wanted to go by bus, but we discovered that flying in Vietnam is very cheap and easy. So we booked a flight for the next day. Since our time was limited, it was the perfect choice for us.

We stayed at the Hoi An Phu Quoc Resort located close to the Ong Lang Beach. To explore the island we rented a scooter for the whole week. Driving around the island we discovered some paradise like beaches hidden behind secret ways (above picture). We also saw a lot of construction of gigantic hotels and resorts. Right now the island is quiet and laid back. Even one of the most popular beaches (Sao Beach) is not very crowded. I am not sure how long it will stay like this. I really hope they can sustain the natural beauty of the island and it doesn't get flooded with mass tourism and a huge pollution problem. This is why NOW is a good time to go and enjoy the beautiful beaches, the untouched nature and the culture of the island.

Arring at Phu Quoc. View from above.

Driving around the island I discovered a resort with my name on it. I like to think that this Resort is named after me...

One of the most popular and famous beaches: Bãi Sao (Sao Beach)

One of the hidden beaches of the island. Feels like a private beach.

A sea star❤️

We discovered this place driving up the road from our Hotel. It is not even on the map yet. It had an amazing view and had a very mysterious vibe to it, because we were the only ones there.

It might be a cliché, but a sunset on the beach is simply beautiful
